Ladies and Gents i present you* EGYPT FIRST*
Ok so, i was thinking Egyptians bloggers need to convery a very important message, EGYPT FIRST! Many Egyptians in Egypt are more concerned with what happens between Palestine & Israel, and whats going on in Iraq, Lebanon, USA and everywhere else...but they seem to forget EGYPT! We need to start getting the message Through. EGYPT FIRST. Lets FIRST start with Egypt, OUR COUNTRY then we can worry about other places...we have enough problems in OUR OWN country! We are not just part of the ARAB nations, we are EGYPT! We are our own people! Arab is our Culture, or our language!
I am horrible with editing pictures and photoshop and so on so i made a few banners. If you want any just let me know! MY AIM IS TO TURN THIS INTO A BIG CAMPAIGN SOON, but you gotta start somewhere!

I thought this idea of yours over and I think it is wonderful. The reason I had to think about it was...well, I thought maybe we should concentrate on solidarity among all Arab nations, but realized--nope--not gonna happen any time soon. In truth I think the Arab world is lost. There's no country who has it's sh*t together enough to even think to change anything in the region. And of course with so many despotic leaders, it seems patriots of every country are facing a brick wall. So I was thinking---yea--if you can start with ONE country, get it on the track--why not? It's the only solution I can think of. Egypt could be an example to the rest of the Arab world. Now, how to accomplish that--well, I am fresh out of ideas--I'll leave that to the younger generation. But I will be praying...asking Allah for His mercy and guidance for you all.
@evo: What are you still doing up, its 3am here in AZ! lol.
Yes we must start with Egypt and BRING IT BACK to being a leader and a major player in the world affairs. ARABS don't care about other Arabs unless it comes to other Arabs being hurt by Israelis or USA (confusing..lol)
So Egyptians need to get over all the other bullshit and quit blaming everyting on the goverment and start with Egypt, the first step would be to Start with yourself and see what you can do! If you can Organize a neighborhood cleaning once a week, if you can talk to the Imam of your mosque or baba of your church about giving a sermon that Encourages the people to do something constructive for EGYPT...There are many many way!
The banners are really cool, and if I still had the age to put up posters in my room, I would love the colored pyramid as a huge poster :-)
I have few comments.
First of all, choose *ONE* logo, and make it absolutely perfect. I'd advice the flag with eagle, but work on the text.
Only in the very moment you feel the logo is absolutely perfect, you should move on with the other banners, and let me tell you why.
The banners should not include a lot of text, but just the logo, 'cause thats enough to convey the message itself.
The url you placed in the banner should be bottom-left and in normal text...NOT italics, that makes it difficult to read.
I've played with logos and banners myself, and I did opposite of what I just wrote here :-D and I've regretted 10000 times that I used first bad logos on other banners, so I feel I carried garbage around from the first tests.
However, if anything in this world is difficult, it is to exercise the art of patience...
Keep up the good work
Adrian
Heyyyyy MP--I could ask you the same question--3 AM your time??? Dont you need your beauty sleep??? ;-)
Anyway, I LOVE the idea of beginning with a service-oriented change. LOVE the clean-up idea. How about everyone who has an extra plate left at the end of a meal, take it to a masjid or church and feed the hungry? Same with old clothes. The longest journey begins with the smallest step. Oh, I'm so excited by this idea.
Also, I too was going to comment abt the banners--which I love---I like the flag the best. I think you should create a website (or another blog) called "Egypt First"! I am good at websites if you need help. Make it a central location for your ideas--especially ideas that any average citizen can implement alone--that doesnt need anyone else's help or government--God forbid--permission. Have the html code available so anyone who wants to put up your banner can link it back to the website--or blog--whatever.
Can I put up the flag banner on my site now--or do you prefer I wait. In fact, I'd love to do a blog post on your idea, but maybe you want to wait until you have everything ready for your "coming out" party? Anyway, anything I can do--ana taht umrak, ya Bey!
Insha Allah we will both end up in Egypt soon, and I will help you if you like. We need to keep in touch!
Hey , I support you campaign and please once you have the final banners please let me know and I will add it to my blog.
Modern Pharaoh:
The banners are nice, good job my friend.the idea of post is wonderful,Egyptians act in a very stupid way and don't mind their own people, here in Egypt it has become like countries inside a country,Muslims,Christians, religious, liberals, veiled, non veiled, educated, non educated and the list can go forever, the society is literally FALLING APART,and i don't think peple will come to their senses soon,The idea is nice but who will ever listen?
MP,
I really like it too, it's positive thinking for a change!...and I think the first thing you should do is to replace that idiotic neturei karta link "judaism is opposed to zionism" on your site. After all, with 13 million jews in the world and half of them living in israel it's kind of a tough position to sustain don't you think? those neturei karta guys are like the dodo bird...:)
Seems like a good idea. The various parts of the Arab Empire will not re-unite until they are all democracies, just as the EU could only form by the free agreement of democracies. (Many of which are parts of the old Roman Empire.) First, each country should concentrate on its own problems, which are generally health and education.
@Don Cox. I don't think it should even bother us to Reunite with the Arab Empire! Ask UAE, or SAudia Arabia or Kuwait.ect.. if they actually Care to reunite with AYONE! THEY DONT...and neither should we! Those countries aren't just Sucesful cuz of oil, its becaues they tend to their OWN business! and worry about THEIR OWN FATE FIRST
OK, good idea.
Now reality check.
With Palestine or not, it would have been the same situation. Actually, without Palestine, the Egyptian dictatorship wouldn't be getting 2 billions a year from the US government today. That's a lot of money, mostly spent on weapons for Mubarak's ego.
Next time you see your neighbor getting raped, just walk away and mind your business. It is not your problem, you already have enough of your own. Maybe its the victim's fault anyway.
I admire your way of thinking. It gives me a lot of hope.
THIS IS GONNA BE A FUNNY ONE!
@Moroccan. What a negative horrible way to put things into..Your comparing the situation to getting Raped!!? but hey if were talking negative let me put my 2cents in.
If my neighbor has been taking it in the ass for years upon years, and i've tried to help him, but he DOESNT seem to want my help or anyones, Then HE STARTS Giving it and Taking in the Ass from his own Household then, you know what...I don't want anything to do with him....Since i've already been taking it in the Ass Enough and my Ass is pretty damn sore! So if YOU wanna Take it in the ASS along with your Neighbor be my guest!
HAHAHAHA! This could go down in history as the Best Hypethetical Comment!
Yes, that's quite the comparison that Moroccan is making. I don't think he got your point. Sometimes, in order to help others, you have to help yourselves.
Anyway, I would suggest involving the kids. If the children in the world grew up with a different outlook at things, so much would change. I grew up in a relatively clean place, so now going to any place where people throw their trash on the streets or out the window bothers me.
Hi MP!
I really like ur blog and I'm so with u on this one. I have an issue with Egypt and Egyptians these days. The country is deteorating day after day and noone wants to stand up and do anyting about it but we're quick to be the peace makers in the region. We need to start with our own issues before we can try to make a difference anywhere else.
I like ur banners..so when ur done with them plz send them to me and I'll post the on my blog.
I just wrote a post about wanting to help those who need help the most in Egypt. It breaks my heart to see those who need reliable healthcare and yet are pushed to the side coz they don't have any money. Egypt definitely needs to be FIRST!
Keep it up!
I don't think you guys get my point.
You can't blame your shortcomings on the Palestinian conflict and you don't have to ignore the suffering of others in order to improve your own situation.
You all sound like the neocons, probably all republicans.
@Moroccan! Dude you must be smoking some good Hash wherever you are..cuz your definitley BAKED!
donkeys and cows
please shut up ur mouth
your mama first
i want to fuck her hard

Before, we can think Egypt first, we must remind ourselves that Arabs are just foreign settlers who conquered and occupied Egypt from the ethnic Copts, the true native Egyptians. Arabism/Islamism are forms of racism and colonism and no different from Zionism or Nazism. Compare Arab conquest of Egypt to English conquest of Americas and destruction of native American culture.
Many Egyptians in Egypt are more concerned with what happens between Palestine & Israel, and whats going on in Iraq, Lebanon, USA and everywhere else...but they seem to forget EGYPT!
You should remind yourself that Muslims will never remember Egypt as they are at heart Arab wanabees. I suggest you try to compare Arab conquest of Egypt to English conquest of Americas and destruction of native American (aka Red Indian) culture.
We need to start getting the message Through. EGYPT FIRST. Lets FIRST start with Egypt, OUR COUNTRY then we can worry about other places...we have enough problems in OUR OWN country!
Let us start by first asking the Arabs settlers in Egypt to apologise to the native Copts for apartheid and cultural destruction. You, Tarek should apologise on behalf of all Arabs your blog if you are brave person. Also, would you support multi-culturalism in Egypt (like Israel) where there will be 3 official/national languages, Coptic, Arabic and Hebrew for Christians, Muslims and Jews.
We are not just part of the ARAB nations, we are EGYPT! We are our own people! Arab is our Culture, or our language!
Arab is _not_ our culture. You are lying Tarek but who do you think is that foolish to believe your lies? Arab is an Imperialist culture of the Islamic conquerers. Our Egyptian culture is Coptic language - Bohieric Dialect and I want to revive Coptic language the way the Jews revived Hebrew. Coptic should be an official language of Egypt, just as Hebrew is the official language of Israel. Right not to speak Arabic is a right of freedom of speech. We don't want indoctrination into Islam/Arab culture.
I am horrible with editing pictures and photoshop and so on so i made a few banners. If you want any just let me know! MY AIM IS TO TURN THIS INTO A BIG CAMPAIGN SOON, but you gotta start somewhere!
You are horrible because you are a liar. Egyptians can never look Egypt first until they accept Arabs as settlers and Copts as natives.
COPTIC LANGUAGE - BOHIERIC DIALECT should be an official language of Egypt and the name "Arab Republic of Egypt" shall be renamed "United Republic of Egypt". Arabs will have to give up their culture in favour of Coptic language.
